Departmental Activities


Note: The events that take place in the Department of Communication, Media and Culture of Panteion University of Social and Political Sciences are photographed or videoed and the photographs may possibly be uploaded on the Department’s website and on social media networks to be made public.

Also, photographs or videos in which teaching and administrative staff or students of the Department appear at events outside the grounds of Panteion University of Social and Political Sciences may possibly be uploaded on the Department’s website or/ and social media networks to publicize the related events.

The Department’s need to have a realistic perception of the relevance of the studies offered to social reality and the needs of the market have led to a series of discussions and ensuing  events.

Indicatively, the Department’s public activities include:

  • Running conferences and seminars
  • Organising open discussions/ debates
  • Attending theatrical productions
  • Organising exhibitions in museums or cultural centres
  • Organising music events
  • Producing film videos
  • Producing electronic journals
  • Creating a web radio (Spam web radio)

The Department develops a series of collaborations with a wide network of organisations of the public and private sector and supports this cooperation with the signing of Protocols and Memorandums of Collaboration.

This practice that has been increasingly implemented in the Department over recent years greatly assists its functioning as an integral part of society; additionally, it helps the absorption of students in the workforce and for cooperation in joint events in all areas.

  4. National Commission for Human Rights
  5. Antenna TV
  6. Hellenic Ministry of Digital Policy, Telecommunications and Media
  7. Festival of Athens.

The response to the diverse activities of the Department is significant as indicated by the large public participation at events, the positive comments in discussions that follow, the related publications in the press and the oral interpersonal communication.

The Department’s students are actively productive in the area of communication, culture, advertising and the arts, publishing newspapers, journals, and other experimental print material, organizing exhibitions, competitions for startup entrepreneurship and social innovation, debates, participating in cultural events and radio programmes and producing short films.


Since 2002, the Department is a founding member of the Communication Institute together with the Department of Communication and Mass Media of the National & Kapodistrian University of Athens, the Department of Journalism and Mass Media of the Aristotelian University of Thessaloniki and the Association of Advertising-Communication Corporations.

Since 2012, the Department and the Masters Programme in Cultural Management participate in the European Network of Cultural Administration Training Centres (ENCATC).

Since 2015, the Workshop of New Technologies participates in the collaborative project gi-cluster of Corallia, which specialises in the creation of entertainment software.

More generally, the Department organises scientific conferences, symposiums, conventions, and contributes to the intellectual life of the country, as well as invite eminent speakers from Greece and abroad.

Student services hours at the Secretariat [2nd floor of the old building]: every Tuesday 10:00 - 13:00

For certifications, letters of confirmation etc., students are assisted by the Student Services Centre in the quadrangle of the New Building, which operates daily from 9:30 – 13:30
